Kalepa
OLD-SCHOOL CHARACTER. PURPOSE-BUILT PERFORMANCE.
The handcrafted Kalepa combines traditional knife-making character with the strength, versatility, and practical features demanded of a dependable outdoor tool.
Built to be worked, the Kalepa features a distinctive recurved blade crafted from high-carbon O1 tool steel. Ground on a slack belt, its high-saber profile transitions from flat to convex, creating a durable cutting edge designed for demanding tasks around camp and in the field.
Along the spine, carefully shaped thumb jimping provides a secure, comfortable grip for controlled cutting. Moving forward, a crisp 90-degree spine adds versatility for striking a ferro rod, shaving wood, scaling fish, and handling other outdoor chores.
From preparing firewood and making kindling to meal preparation and traditional campfire whittling, the Kalepa is designed to remain useful long after the day’s work is done.
The handle features Christensen Knives Burlap Micarta scales, complemented by three stainless steel hollow tube pins. A concealed lanyard hole with yellow paracord maintains the knife’s clean lines while providing additional functionality.
A custom Kydex sheath featuring a Flat Black and White Skulz design completes the package, offering front and rear auxiliary mounting points and versatile right- or left-handed carry configurations.
Handcrafted by Don Christensen, the Kalepa brings together traditional character, purposeful construction, and dependable performance.
No unnecessary ornament. No wasted features. Just a capable, well-built tool with old-school soul and the craftsmanship to earn its place in camp.
